What is SPOT?

SPOT (Symptom Prioritization and Outcome Triage), developed by Your Vet Direction, empowers veterinary customer service representatives to handle client conversations with greater confidence, consistency, and compassion. Built by practicing veterinarians, SPOT works alongside a clinic’s practice management software and uses relevant information from the pet’s clinical record to guide the conversation. It captures both sides of a call through voice transcription, including compatible VoIP connections, and uses a language model to organize the owner’s concerns and answers. Veterinarian-authored clinical rules guide follow-up questions and determine the recommended urgency, with an explanation the CSR can share. The veterinary team retains clinical authority. Beyond symptom triage, SPOT provides toxin dose calculations, medication-refill checks, practice-specific answers, email and text triage, appointment recommendations, and case notes for the medical record. Scheduling recommendations follow the clinic’s rules, including routing considerations for mobile practices. A pet-owner portal extends triage guidance after hours, following participating clinics’ processes and referral networks. SPOT preserves the human connection at the front desk. Its clinical pathways are deterministic, explainable, and maintained by veterinarians. Reported concerns undergo veterinary review, and approved corrections become regression tests before release. SPOT is currently in beta in veterinary practices and uses a subscription model priced per CSR login, including call listening. Veterinary logic supporting real people, compassionate conversations, and timely care.
